For some reason this just struck me as insanely funny. We used to have a bunny and this is pretty much what a bunny yawn looks like…

I have no idea what they were supposed to be, although the frequent theme was “family”. This is Kaiti (the wee one), Lindsay (in red) and our neighbour, Tina (who was Lindsay’s best friend). Outfits courtesy of “the dress-up box”.
My children (and the neighour kids) were blessed with dress-ups beyond imagination at our house. I kept two humungous boxes that contained everything from clothes from my early to late teens, clothes from my early 20’s (evening gowns and the wedding dress from my first marriage), to clothes my mother had worn to things I picked up in thrift stores. I would alter clothes in the boxes so they would fit or were easier to get on and off. There was also a dresser that housed accessories like shawls, shoes, jewelry, handbags and hats. We had equal opportunity dress-up play. There was clothes for boys as well, although not as many boys ventured into the basement if dress-up was on the menu!
The girls would also frequently incorporate their own clothing into the mix. As well there were requests to “borrow” a jacket from Dad or a belt or sash or scarf from me.
I’ve been going through the boxes of dis-organized photos (pre-digital camera). As I work through them we find the occasional gem and some might make it here to the blog. This one appears on Kaiti’s facebook as well.
I wonder how much this influenced the way they dress now that they are “all grown up”?
I needed a ball of yarn, and so I opened the “main” stash closet door and look what I found:

That closet is about 3 feet deep and 2 feet wide, so you really aren’t seeing all the yarn. I should probably be glad I wasn’t home when he first saw this – but I am wondering what made him look in the first place. Inquiring minds NEED to know – but I’m sure as h*ll not asking him any time soon!
