Just for those that wanna know….

1. I AM CANADIAN.


2. I grew up wanting to be a country singer or a school teacher.


3. I officially became neither.


4. Doesn’t mean I haven’t taught or sang!


5. I love music. All kinds.


6. I have coloured my hair since I was 17 years old.


7. I hate frilly things.


8. I hate gummy-type candies, or gum for that matter.


9. I love chocolate and nuts and truffles and minty things.


10. I hate to work out in gyms, but I like to exercise.


11. I have a bad back due mainly to heredity and a couple of nasty accidents.


12. I am terrified of snakes, but can handle being around spiders.


13. I’ve been married twice.


14. I’ve been with my current husband since 1978.


15. He works for a well-known Canadian TV conglomerate (NOT CBC).


16. We have two amazing daughters.


17. I love being a Mom – MOST OF THE TIME.


18. I love Christmas, but hate the hype of New Year’s Eve.


19. I bought my first car before I knew how to drive because I fell in love (with the car).


20. It was a 1971 VW Bug that was killed by a semi-trailer after I’d owned it for more than 14 years. I was thankfully not in it when it met the semi.


21. I’ve owned five cars in total.


22. I love driving stick (standard shift). It just feels right.


23. I used to be late for everything.


24. Being late for work once saved me from being shot by an enraged (and drunk) gunman.


25. I am afraid of guns and have never held one.


26. I have a frog tattoo on my lower back. Not a teeny thing either.


27. I think I’d like a Maple Leaf tattoo as well.


28. My ears have been pierced many MANY times but I wouldn’t dream of piercing any other part of my body.


29. I saw Tina Turner’s halter dress fall down and expose her breasts in a concert in 1973. A costume malfunction BEFORE Janet Jackson’s!


30. I was once hit on by Pat Paulsen, which is just plain weird. (google him if you’re curious)


31. I entered a beauty pagent on a dare in 1972.


32. I ended up having a great time and being a finalist.


33. I once got away with shoplifting (a lipstick). I felt so guilty that was the last time I ever tried stealing.


34. I moved away from home when I was seventeen.


35. I moved so many times over the next 10 years that I lost count.


36. I’ve worked more kinds of jobs than I can recall.


37. My most interesting job was as an insurance adjuster’s assistant.


38. I once opened an envelope containing pieces of rat, supposedly found in a can of stew.


39. I also worked for a human kind of rat, when he hit on me I hit him.


40. I have a little “Martha Stewart” in my veins.


41. I get overly obsessive with new passions in life and research them to death.


42. I can sew anything.


43. I also knit.


44. I “collect” yarn.


45. I can crochet too, but I don’t.


46. I learned tatting but can’t remember how anymore.


47. I am crafty. [hehe]


48. I know how to wire a light and lay wood flooring too.


49. I love my house.


50. I smoked for 12 years and quit cold turkey for 15 years and then started again.


51. I am currently a non-smoker.


52. I am a bad liar.


53. I am a loyal friend.


54. I am slow to get to know people.


55. I would rather have a few good friends than a hundred acquintances.


56. I didn’t eat red meat or pork for about 20 years.


57. I don’t like plain milk, in fact I am lactose intolerant.


58. I love mocha lattes (you can make them with soy)!


59. I believe good sushi can be better than sex.


60. I love sushi.


61. I love coffee and almost anything made with coffee.


62. Except coffee gum. That is just disgusting.


63. I don’t chew gum EVER.


64. I have Graves Disease (in remission).


65. I try not to get into the habit of having collections, because I really hate clutter.


66. BUT – I collect frog things.


67. I used to collect turtles, but somebody got mixed up and that’s how the frog collection began.


68. I used to be well known for my “potty mouth”.


69. I’ve cleaned up my act in recent years.


70. I went back to school in my forties.


71. I love CSS and PHP and all that other good stuff.


72. I can say the alphabet backwards faster than I can say it forwards.


73. When tired I tend to type entire sentences backwards.


74. I can type over 140 keystrokes a minute.


75. I am a good photographer.


76. I want to be a better photographer.


77. I have short term memory loss related to Graves Disease.


78. But – I still remember my address and phone number from my childhood home.


79. I love cooking, but not baking.


80. I am a voracious reader.


81. Large crowds of people scare me.


82. I will do almost anything to avoid conflict.


83. I love my cats.


84. I sleep on my side, hugging a pillow.


85. I feel insecure sleeping naked.


86. I once rescued a small child from drowning while away on vacation.


87. I didn’t learn to swim until I was 12 years old.


88. I’ve travelled to 5 Canadian provinces and about 15 US states.


89. I don’t like to be hot and sweaty, so living in the south is a definite NO.


90. I am allergic to sheep but not to wool.


91. I am not much of a jewelry person, but I do love earrings.


92. I can’t wear gold jewelry. But platinum is no problem!


93. I also love silver jewelry, as long as it’s kept simple.


94. I am a realist.


95. I believe in God, but not in organized religion.


96. No-one ever guesses my age correctly, but lately they are getting closer.


97. I need to lose a little bit of the weight that has crept on with age.


98. One day I want to go to Greece and sip wine by the sea.


99. Did you guess that “Shirley Valentine” is one of my favourite movies?


100. I am proud of who I’ve become because it took a LONG time to get to this point.
