So, if you’ve followed my blog or know me in person – then you know that we’ve been planning a kitchen renovation F O R E V E R !

Things always cropped up that made it impossible to begin, the most recent being hubby’s mystery illness most of last year and then his falling off the roof this past January. We were beginning to think it was just not destined to be, and yet it had to be.

Our house is large, the kitchen is average. The appliances are a sad and aging group which work (or not), depending on the season, time of day and number of people I’m attempting to feed.

This past 6 weeks has been hectic due to the passing of my MIL and dealing with everything that goes along with that.

We’ve been in no real hurry to deal with the kitchen anymore, and I just assumed that we’d wait til maybe mid-summer to get serious. It appears I was wrong.

The gutting of the kitchen begins NEXT MONDAY. Yep, you heard right. Himself is tired of waiting, has next week off and it seems our contractor (who has been on hold forever and not minding at all, bless his soul) has time too.

I am seriously in a fog. I keep thinking “I have to get a gallery set up for photos of the reno…”.

HA! Like that is the least of my problems. I’ve changed the design so many times I don’t what I want anymore. Painted cabinets? Glazed? Wood tones? ARGH!! It’s almost too much to think about, but think I must!

I need to finalize appliance choices, flooring, cabinetry, COLOURS, hardware, lighting …. LAYOUT….did I mention that? Are we re-arranging much or staying true to what already exists?

I JUST DON’T KNOW!

So, I’m running out the door. To hit every hardware and kitchen place within a day’s drive. I need a book, no – a BINDER – to keep all the bits in.

And I need to take some decent “BEFORE” shots.

Yes, that’s what I need to do.
