snow for christmas?

weathermap

Look here! Over the last few days the weather map for Maple Ridge has been moving one snowy day closer to Christmas. Today I looked at the map to see lots more snow days, and snow on Christmas day! How cool.

Hopefully it’ll be just enough to cover the lawn a little and make it feel like Christmas. I don’t actually want a blizzard! ... or maybe I do ...  cheese

So, about my lack of blogging as of late. You can pretty much chalk it up to several things…

First of all - I have no camera, so that makes for boring posts. I’ve been knitting a lot, and wish I could post a few photos here, but that’ll have to wait. I am thinking of going out and buying a little point and shoot digital because there are a lot of them on sale right now, and that’s really all I’d need.

Second reason for the lack of posts here - the ongoing hassle of intermittent access to my site. Seems my host was unaware of the server issues (and the fact that I couldn’t log on to post, couldn’t get email, in fact most of the time the page was showing up as a blank to me. I have no idea what others were seeing). They say it’s being fixed. Let’s hope so or I’ll be searching for a new host soon.

Lastly, the weather has really sucked lately, and we’ve had power outages (more than usual). Last night there was wind and thunder and lightening, so computers were off. So what did I do instead? I drove to the mall and shopped. For myself. Yes - for me. Tried on a lot of things, but in the end I only bought a couple of cute T’s and a pretty teal coloured sweater. Yes, I do realize I could knit a sweater like this, but do you know how BORING that would be? And besides, I’m planning on going job hunting after Christmas, and desperately need some clothes before the end of a year, which is how long it usually takes me to knit anything larger than a scarf for myself.

I am not really in the Christmas spirit these days. I was earlier, having donated to the food bank and the local shelter. I even put together a “Christmas design” for here! Let’s just say there are the usual family issues that have me wondering why I don’t just get a ticket to Mexico and celebrate on a warm sunny beach.

We are in between weather systems at the moment and so it’s calm outside. There was even a hint of sun earlier, but that’ll be disappearing soon enough. The joys of winter I suppose!

hope the holiday situation improves… i am very sympathetic as some sort of family drama always seems to happen around this time.  mr. d tries to avoid them as much as possible but it’s really hard… always intensified by the “must be merry” feelings!
beautiful sweater, handknit or no… love the color.

Family drama - have we ever had a Christmas without it???

Once - when N&P didn’t come.

Hope you’ve battened down the hatches for the next storm that’s coming.  The weather the has been so crazy lately, hasn’t it.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without family dramas...lol.  I know I’ve had my share of them!

Take care and hope your Christmas spirit comes back soon.

I couldn’t possibly care less about Christmas, myself!
