A sweater for me

When I’m working at the store I like to have something to work on that’s not complicated, so that if I have to put it down suddenly I won’t get lost with where I was. Currently my “mindless” knitting project is a lightweight sweater for me.

Yarn: Sirdar Denim Sport Aran
Pattern: Jo Sharp’s Book Three – The Holiday Island

Read any good knitting books lately?

I have birthday money that is burning a hole in my pocket. At first I was going to purchase enough Debbie Bliss cashmerino aran (in a beautiful deep purple) to make myself a sweater (I can order it wholesale thru the store I work at), but now I’m thinking knitting books instead.

Specifically these two: The Knitter’s Book of Finishing Techniques by Nancie Wiseman. Since amazon.ca is currently offering 30 off their books AND free shipping for orders over $39CA , I figured it’s a pretty good deal.

So… any knitters out there with an opinion on either of these books?

UPDATE: BOUGHT BOTH and USE both! Great books. I highly recommend them!

Lindsay’s Milanese Mañanita completed

Lindsay’s Milanese Mañanita was revealed earlier on an older site (of mine), when I was still thinking about how to set up this knitting blog.
